DEI lead to terrible hiring. They filled the bureaucracies with incompetent self-important people. Recall FEMA put up a web page to counter "dangerous" accusations that they were limiting their response based on political alignment. Then we found out that it was true, someone in upper management instructed people to ignore houses with certain political signs.
