@garycopley5610 The Presidential Records Act is a civil statute. The appropriate action say when the Archives wants documents back is to sue, not to file criminal charges. They filed criminal charges because the goal is to get Trump. And this has to do with documents with Russiagate documents the agencies don't want published.

They're prosecuting Trump for what Biden did. Trump had the presidential power of declassification, and the right to access his presidential records. Presidents can and do take classified documents home with them. Because the power of declassification belongs to the president. No one else can do that, except some exceptions when say the VP classified the document.

@Danimal.69 It's a total Biden administration politicization of the law. Bill Clinton was sued over taking classified tapes from the white house (in socks). The court said he had the right to decide which documents were personal records, and the act of taking them (he was president at the time) was a declassification.
