Just consider the different levels of invective Noam Chomsky has for the US and Britain on the one hand, and Islamist movements. He wrote an entire book arguing that Bill Clinton is more evil than bin Laden. Basically regressive leftists aren't concerned with ideas, which leads them to such a corruption of principles.
