Progressives have these mental buttons which set off righteous indignation.  They're pressed when they sense something like racism or discrimination against the weak, as in the Afleck example.   Sam Harris has had a lot of trouble with them because he likes thought experiments, as a way of weighing ideas.   The thought experiments will push the SJW's buttons, because they're not smart enough to distinguish hypotheticals from reality.
