@VaultWeasel If that were the case, the Trump hating judge would NOT have sent the letter.

This case is all politics. They got their coordinated narrative. If this post was verified to have nothing to do with the case, then Merchan wouldn't have sent the letter. He did everything he could to secure a conviction. He's not going to undermine it, unless he has to.

@Godzilla1969-R "That was debunked already" You already have a coordinated narrative. But again, the judge wouldn't have sent the letter, undermining his conviction, if this were debunked.

@edf9682 Try thinking through this. If it was confirmed that this was a "troll" and did not know the juror, then Merchan F-ed up big time, by sending this letter to the defense. More likely, he had reason to think it was a legitimate comment and sent the letter because he had to. You're arguing that Judge Merchan is stupid.
3
@DDumbrille If they knew this had nothing to do with the case, the judge wouldn't have sent the letter. The judge wanted a conviction. He would only send the letter, if he had to.

The letter means he verified relevant fact, and now is covering his ass.

Is anyone surprised by this. The charges made no coherent logical sense, the prosecution witnesses were pathological liars, and one admitted to grand larceny on the stand. The jury instructions were unconstitutional--you can't have the jurors "pick the crime". It wouldn't have gone to a jury is the judge were responsible.

@lynnhumphreys4957 "physical evidence" of what? They have 34 retainer checks for about 30k Trump wrote to Cohen. That's not evidence of anything, except that Cohen was Trump's lawyer, who was paid 31k per month. All that came out in the trial was that Cohen embezzled 60k from Trump.
1
@DDumbrille "Again, this has been thoroughly debunked." LOL, by Chris Hayse, Laurence O'Donnell and Nickolle Wallace. Yes. The paid liars are saying it's "debunked".
1
@DDumbrille There's no "SHEESH.." The judge sent the letter after jury deliberations. It's too late to prevent it from happening.
1
@DDumbrille You people are like robots or marching ants. This verdict, from this obviously rigged and politically motivated trial resulted in Trump's campaign raising 400 million in 1 week.
1
@shushmebro3845 What conspiracy? You're the one just repeating talking points. Your position is that the Trump hating judge Merchan is conspiring to undermine the conviction, by sending a letter to the defense over a "debunked troll post".
1
@annroberts7935 He didn't give the entire post. Michael Anderson's post starts with "Thank you for your hard (work) against the MAGA crazies."
1
@yikwanwong8267 But if that is true, why would Merchan have sent this public letter to the defense and prosecution? The judge, who hates Trump, and was obviously on the side of convicting him, wouldn't admit grounds for a mistrial unless he was forced to.
1
@RoxxyRed74 There's nothing legitimate about his case. It's a political stunt by Democrats. The fact that we don't know what crime he was convicted of proves that a fortiori.
1
@Bootmahoy88 It wasn't the judge's job to report a bogus facebook post. He obviously considered it a serious matter, or he wouldn't have sent the letter to the defense, undermining the conviction he did everything he could to get. The coordinated Dem talking points move fast.
1
@Bootmahoy88 If it were someone lying that he talked to a juror then it wouldn't have been an infraction. This is a judge who didn't consider it serious that his family was fundraising for Democrats, and using this trial for publicity, while prosecuting the GOP Presidential candidate. Your spin is transparent and ridiculous.
1
The letter from the judge is already a verified story.
