  3. The major opponent of Citizens United whose campaign spent 1.2 billion, as opposed to Trump's 500 million, lost. It's very hypocritical to speak of Koch and Mercer, when Clinton raised twice the money and used her connections to donors to undermine her primary opponent.

  4. According to Bloomberg news it was 1.19 billion that Clinton raised versus 646 million by the Trump campaign. But everyone I know who thinks Citizen's United is horrible, supported the Clinton campaign--the candidate with the most extravagant corporate sponsorship. But putting the hypocrisy aside, you can't ban people from spending money supporting one candidate or another, because the First Amendment doesn't allow it. Many feature film, for example, would be censored because they were sponsoring a candidate. CNN would have been shut down for sponsoring Clinton over Sanders, and then over Trump.
