What I noticed about Orlando is that they're saying "This was an act of homophobia.  I didn't have anything to do with Islam."  Muslims are taught that homosexuality is a capital sin.   Strangely, there was a Muslim on the same TYT comments thread saying that a true Muslim would only convict these homosexuals in court and execute them legally.   So this shooter wasn't really Muslim.   Holy crap!

I looked up FBI statistics and about 350 people are murdered each year with rifles.  So banning AR15s would barely make a dent in the murder rate.  To be clear that doesn't include shotguns, which also are used in about 350 murders.   But this is out of about 10,000 murders each year.   And the effect would probably be 0, because those people would just use a different gun.

  12. The shooter didn't have access to automatic weapons.   It was a semi-auto pistol and rifle.   Automatic guns are Class 3 weapons which, though legal to own in some states, require ATF licensing and registration with the police.
