@chriswhinery925 I don't think that's the scientific consensus. When they first went to the Moon, they had weeks of quarantine when they returned. And that's with the Moon almost certainly devoid of life.

It's kind of fun that Ridley Scott switched to making comedies for Prometheus and now his Alien parody. That an old gag where you string out a plot point beyond ridiculousness "Do you get it yet, that it's David not Walter?....Do you get it?..."

@chriswhinery925 It probably wouldn't be a virus that would kill you. It's true that there are viruses everywhere that are not threat to us. A teaspoon of sea water has millions. But rather a parasite, as in this movie.

The Apollo program put astronauts into quarantine for weeks after returning from a dead world because of the possibility of dangerous pathogens. But these retards go out on an alien planed teaming with life, where then have no resistance to any microbes, with no protection whatsoever. People knew of this danger hundreds of years ago. Africa was a dangerous place for Europeans, because they have no resistance to malaria.

Any alien world teeming with life will have pathogens which we have zero resistance to. Real astronauts would uses protective suits, air filters, etc. Otherwise, they'd probably die from disease.

@StoutProper The astronauts put on biohazard suits, and the people who recovered them from the capsule had scuba gear on. Nobody had been to the Moon or analyzed and samples, so they didn't take any chances.
