  1. Regardless, just cgi is not impressive. For example, Terminator 2, made in 1991, was very sparing and used practical effects, so it avoided the uncanny valley effect. People can do cgi today with home computers. It's just not impressive.

  2. In reality, a life form that evolved on a completely different planet would not look at all like people, with blue skin and cat ears. They'd be in some form we found hideous.
