But there is no campaign finance violation charge, those campaign violations are usually fine offenses, the statute of limitations on the campaign laws has run out, and the campaign laws are federal laws, so the NY DA has no jurisdiction.   48. It's amazing that the DOJ can get aways with this. You can get disbarred for what Garrland did. There are legal ethics and procedures for avoiding conflict of interest. Prosecutors are normally required to recuse themselves when they have a personal stake, eg when the target is a political opponent of their boss.
