  1. What's ironic is that the actual Storm Troopers were a faction of a political party. They were basically a more organized Antifa (they're communist party opponents). When the NSDAP got power the police were ordered to stand down and let the SA terrorize the enemies of the NSDAP. In these cities with a loony left voter base, the mayor is ordering the police to stand down, so Antifa can harass their political opponents.

  2. The whole assault on the federal courthouse is pure political theater. They're larper revolutionaries. There's no message or cause. Their latest grievance is the federal agents. But the federal agents wouldn't be there if they were vandalizing the courthouse.

  4. These progressives (American vernacular is "liberal", even though they're anti-liberal) are playing a dangerous political game. The Civil War started when S.C. ordered the US military out of Fort Sumter. One option would be for the feds in portland to not do anything and let the communists burn down the courthouse. The political fallout for the Democrats would be huge.
