This is dangerous hysteria. If this established legal norm didn't exist, every president would get sued into oblivion. Amb. Steven's family would have sued Obama for not having enough security at the embassy. Obama might have been prosecuted for assassinating 2 US citizens. Biden would be liable for the deaths of the 13 soldiers in Kabul, and also for the children he ordered blown up in retaliation. Also, they all seem to have collectively forgotten that Trump is not the president.
