A likely outcome is the Democrat NPC jury convicts and then it is thrown out on appeal. There's no chance a case this weak survives appeal. There's not even an underlying crime.

This isn't the law. There is no crime here. It's a fraudulent indictment. Hush money payments are not illegal. And BTW, Ms Daniels owes Trump $670,000 in legal fees and damages for losing defamation suits.

LOL And they broke 250 year precedent to bring this case--the first case against an ex-president and current leading contender for the presidential election. The Democrats are the worst people on the planet.

That wold be true, but we're in clown world. The Democrats are gleeful at having a zombie president who just does what the party tells him always.

They are absolutely saying this is about "election interference".

@ToABrighterFuture The SCOTUS will take the case. It involves an ex-president being prosecuted for the first time in the 250 year history of the republic. Then it will go the same way as the stupid Democrat 14th Amendment legal theory, which died 9-0. The indictment itself is unconstitutional. It involves a Manhattan DA trying to prosecute federal law. And it violates the 6th Amendment right to know the charges, the indictment doesn't mention the "crime" he supposedly covered up. There is zero chance that a conviction will stick. The goal is to get a conviction ahead of the election, an election interference scheme.

Whenever I talk to Democrats about this, they list a bunch of things which are not illegal and Trump is not being charged with. "This was election interference" "He's charged for a hush money payment." The lesson is that you can have the best Constitution and the most developed legal common law, but if you have bad, disingenuous, political hacks running the court, none of that matters.

There is no underlying law. It's a state misdemeanor, with expired statute of limitations, stapled to federal campaign law incoherently. The FEC investigated this in 2018 and found nothing. Further, not reporting a campaign expense (cf. Hillary Clinton Steele Dossier) is a violation that carries a fine, not a criminal offense.
