  1. The ruling sounds fine to me. There's no "prior restraint" when it comes to speech in the US. There can be no government agency which determines what is a lie. Your recourse is that you can sue for slander. But for politicians that's limited. For example, in 2012 Harry Reid just lied that Romney didn't pay his taxes.

  2.  @nickiemcnichols5397  My point is that he got away with. It was just a lie. There are civil codes against slander, that you can sue on. But the standard is higher for politicians/public figures.
