  1. This reminds me, before the 2003 Iraq invasion the media had discussions of the war plan and had a literal countdown clock to "Shock and Awe". I'm not a military guy, but people who are like Heggseth will know when an element of surprise maters. For one thing, the Houthis aren't a threat to the US military.   2. How would the Houthis wage a counter strike or fortify their positions on that? Heggseth didn't give anything about location. I would take no judgement from the party that cause the disaster in Afghanistan that killed 1000s and turned the Taliban into the worlds largest arms dealer.
