The most important event of the Battle of Berlin was when Hitler yelled out "Fegelein, Fegelein, Fegelein."

Today he'd have to respect their preferred pronouns.

It's strange that it was foreign troops. Why would French be loyal to a falling German government? That had occupied France?

The US didn't care enough about either side to intervene. The US policy was that they can have their war, but the US didn't want either side to be victorious. Both countries were dangerous, supporters of terrorism.

There's that famous photo of the dead Swedish woman in the half-track, who was fighting with the Germans outside the Chancellery.

The French really have a chip on their shoulder over this history. They're more resentful of the American liberation than the German subjugation.

It's rather grim though. The war was long since lost by the events of that movie. But the Germans keep fighting because of the spell that Hitler has on them. In other wars the losers surrender much sooner.

I'd like to have some inflatable decoy tanks, that would show up on google maps.

So it was about like living in a Democrat controlled city in America: gangs of thugs looting your businesses and harassing you with impunity, and the government completely inept to do anything about it.

@darlenekhin The Iran-Iraq war started about a decade before the Persian Gulf war.

@iDm0Nd Iraq had a nuclear weapons program, they had a nuclear reactor, which they intended to use against Israel, so Israel destroyed it in a strike. Iraq was at war with the northern Kurdish province that they used chemical weapons on killing 100k. When Iraq was driven out of Kuwait they set wells on fire, and dumped oil into the gulf, wasting enough petrol that the US consumes in a year. It took nearly a year just to put the oil fires out. But the original poster doesn't make any sense. The Iran/Iraq war was 1980-88, and the Gulf War was in 1991.

@davidw.2791 A small band, about 50, of British Waffen SS, were arrested for treason after the war, with their leader being executed. They were probably recent German immigrants

There was also the pro-Nazi element in France, that capitulated and set up the Vichy Regime.

Anonymous Anonymous It's odd that "liberals" think that just exposure to symbols or ideas will infect someone. It's how conservatives used to think gayness was contagious.

@ArceneStorms I could just find it with a google search.

@AroAceGamer You can't harm the image of the Nazis. Their image is so bad, that there are no such parties today. There are about 10 fringe communist parties in the US, but no neo-nazi party.
