Why do you think Democrats try to scare people with claims that "Republicans will cut medicaid or social security." You have to have no liquid assets to qualify for medicaid. It particular, successful small business owners overwhelmingly vote Republican, because over taxation and/or overregulation is their biggest issue. Stats also show that the majority of homeowners are Republicans, while the majority of renters are Democrats.
