  1. At least when the Germans were saying "we will fight to the last man" it was their own soldiers' expressing ideological commitment, to a lost cause. Now it's people committing Ukrainians and Russians to the meat grinder.

  3. Zelensky actually wears a suit to Ukrainian speeches and political meetings. So this dressing as a commando is some statement he's making. It's a really stupid one too. The US has strict civilian control of the military. Dressing that way hurts his image in non-authoritarian countries.
