  1. After Gaby Giffords was shot by a mentally ill psycho, there was talk by Obama and other politicians about a "new tone". Because violent sounding rhetoric was dangerous. But that was because they mistakenly thought he was inspired by the Tea Party. But they still blamed the shooting on the Tea party after the shooter turned out to be a left wing conspiracy theorist.
