This is a straw man. Genetic research consists of modifying organisms ether for experiment, or to produce useful proteins. All bio-genetic drugs, such as monoclonal antibodies are produced by engineering animal cells to produce proteins.

Engineering a virus "to do what you want", is not the same thing as altering a virus. Genetic engineering has been a thing for a few decades. Whole classes of drugs, including all monoclonal antibodies, are engineered buy putting dna in certain animal cells, and sometimes even humanizing the proteins created.

@anzaca1 The problem is that "experts" are deliberately lying. The lab leak hypothesis is more plausible than being transmitted by a bat in a meat market which is native to southern China, 1000 km away.

@iammeok Why would anyone not consider a security breach at a virology lab to not be a likely cause? TF is just making straw man arguments. Why would a dangerous leak have to involve a "created" virus?
