  1. I wondered why they launched Apollo 12 into a thunder storm. Why take risks like that? There was the risk, unknown for the entire mission, of damage to the command module parachute system. They didn't mention it to the astronauts because there was nothing they could do about it.

  2. Ironically this is the most exciting (or rather dramatic) Apollo mission after Apollo 11.
