  1. "alt-left" is a term used to describe violent and reactionary leftwing groups, such as Antifa.

  2. I think the term was coined by Sean Hannity--basically a counterpart to the alt-right. Walsh and Reid are progressives, but they're also corporate Democrats. So it sounds like you're using it to refer to non-corporate Democrats.
