  1. The Democrats gave them the middle finger, so they moved to Trump. Real wages were up during Trump, now they're down. They also really don't like the open borders. They don't like a president who will pay Ukrainian bureaucrats' salaries, while the Maui fire victims got $750 each.

  2.  @grobinson4805  Exactly. The left routinely misunderstands the working class, particularly blue collar. People can make a good living working, but on handouts their just subservient and poor. Eg. I had a grandfather who was an oilfield mechanic, and when he died he owned several houses and 320 acres of farm land. The Democrats don't offer them anything anymore.

  3. The Democrats never had a permanent constituency. During Obama the Democrats lost, big time, down ballot. In other words, voters liked Obama, they didn't necessarily like his politics so much.

  4. LOL That's the kind of analysis that cost Hillary Clinton the election. The rust belt used to vote Democrat in the 90s. Then the Dems moved to a different base. The free trade agreements and open borders are directly against their interests.
