They are held out of the country as foreign enemy combatants. I think they abruptly revoked the plea deal, because the Democrats are likely to lose the election. Appearing weak is not going to help.

@davemustang8173 They never intended to put them on trial. They didn't arrest bin Laden, the No. 2 guy, nor the leadership of ISIS. They were all killed in military operations.

@tony4534 That's one reason Obama's plan to put him on trial never happened. It would have been just a show trial. "He will be tried and then executed." brought laughter from some Republicans, because that's not a fair trial.

@tony4534 I didn't make a point about the death penalty. Obama had a plan to conduct a show trial and execute him. It didn't happen because that's silly, and just political pandering. They're housed as enemy combatants, indefinitely.
