  1. That's not the criterion for Zimmerman being guilty. Nobody is under an obligation to prevent a confrontation. If Treyvon was bashing his head against the pavement they it would be legal for Zimmerman to shoot him. I think the DA overcharged him, so he's probably going to be aquitted. The most they can prove is probably manslaughter, but they charged him with 2nd degree murder.

  2. I don't think there is a law that says "you lose the right of self-defense when you follow someone." Following isn't illegal.
