  1. The thug defends classical literature; That's totally realistic. There actually weren't any thugs in my high school. There were trashy assholes, but so? And plenty of dumb people.

  2. In my high school there were 3-5 black students out of 3000. There were no racial issues at all. But white guys who went to a black majority inner city school, Howard Stern, Henry Rollins, Ian MacKaye(Minor Threat, Fugazi), are always saying that they were routinely assaulted and harassed.
