At 18: Can enter military, GO TO WAR Can enter into contracts Can get into debt Can get married, have kids (if not earlier) Can do anything 'adult' themed that's legal (regardless of your thoughts about it) off camera Can work any dangerous job that can maim or worse Etc All of which can be and are life changing. Some in irreparable and permanent ways. Oh well. It's called being an adult and making decisions you'll have to live with.
