@williamsherman7811 your completely missing the part about the reasons the North did what they did. The north did not attack the South to free slaves. You're making out one part of the country to be some sort of hero and another part of the country to be some sort of traitor. You don't know the difference between patriotic defense and insurrection. I guess you also voted for Biden. I'm assuming then that you also believe that all of the Americans involved in the January 6th incident should be indicted. Your not American, your woke, that makes you weak.

@williamsherman7811 you should understand that people from the South understand more about southern history than what the government has allowed you to be taught elsewhere. The school system in the government has completely covered up the true reasons and ideas of everything behind the civil war. This war is one of our biggest losses and upsets in the history of the United States and it is something that should be taught in its fullest not something that should be nitpick and taken out of context and thrown into school in tiny little bits and pieces.

@williamsherman7811 bottom line. The northern states did not intentionally initiate freedom from slavery. They initially wanted to tax the south for every slave they owned which the south was against. Even Northern land owners had slaves. Thomas Jefferson and George Washington had slaves. The point is, the North offered freedom as a prize for fighting the south. In the end, the freedom of slaves was an accidental side piece of victory. The North, the victors of the war, were of a capitalist mindset that is instilled in America today. If the Spanish didn't bring slaves here, America would have grown more slowly. If Africans didn't hate Africans so much then the Spaniards would have never been able to sell them. The first slaves in America were the Native Americans, followed by Irishmen, both of which I am related, followed by the Chinese and then, finally then after all of those slaves of the North..... The African slaves of the South came along, originally from Florida, owned by the Spanish, and then into Charleston. I'm not choosing the side of slavery bub, I choose the side of knowledge. I suggest you study more on human interactions and communication because your history, you being a graduate of the subject, is quite frankly, way sub par.
