Watch Chris Rock before the slap, he places his front foot forward, leans his chin in and stands completely still. Watch wills open palm, he twists it down as he connects. It was a blatant stage slap even if we only get to see it from that one particular camera angle (which is mighty convenient!) And they are both grinning immediately afterward. They really went for it though, and the verbal exchange was well acted, maybe the f-bomb was unscripted, but come-on, it was a blatant stage-slap surely?? Body language experts on yt are calling bs on it too, I don't know why everyone is so taken in by it?

@LaztstaNd too true 👍 😂 Chris Rock would flinch or move backwards just beforehand, not stand there stock still with his chin out!

Ffs, it was a blatantly prearranged stage-slap. Why is everyone treating it like it was real or spontaneous??

@huh3719 I think they really went for it to sell it, and maybe connected a bit too hard. It would be good to see it from another angle, there must tons of cameras pointed at that stage, why the one camera angle perfect to mask stage slaps?

@huh3719 will (and Chris) is grinning immediately afterwards as he is turning around. Slow it down to 0.25 and watch it, you will see what I mean

@huh3719 I'm not sure, the camera angle is not the main point for me, I've watched it many times at 0.25x and it really, really looks like a stage slap that connected too hard, with maybe an unscripted f-bomb thrown in. But the way Chris precisely positioned himself and his face as will was walking up to him makes it look like he knew exactly what was coming.

@huh3719 and that they are both grinning as they turn around. And Chris's reaction to the slap, no flinch, no involuntary move backwards seems fake. Body language experts are calling bs to it too. But hey, it got everyone talking about the oscars I suppose!

@huh3719 yea, i agree
