The Supreme Court's ruling establishes that the determination of what constitutes an official act is made by them on a case by case basis. They have the final authority to interpret whether a President’s actions are official or unofficial and its rulings are binding. A corrupt Supreme Court, such as this one, can interpret the scope of official acts broadly, declaring actions that appear personal or illegal as official to grant immunity. By ruling that questionable or clearly illegal actions taken by a favored former President were official, the Court can, and most likely will, shield the former President from prosecution. As the highest court, the Supreme Court’s decisions are final and not subject to review by any higher authority, making it possible for the Court to protect a former President without recourse. This ruling was designed specifically to protect Trump.
