  1. Self regulation will not work, has never worked, ever. Government, whether you like it or not, is the only solution to consumer protection. Companies only exist to profit, not to take into consideration how people feel or their well-being. Government regulation is the only solution, principles and ideologies and fanciful daydreaming isn't going to change that fact.
