Westminsters probelm as drugs policy is still centralised there. The Union is killing Scots.

@leomercy3016 Can when drugs policy is outwith the competence of the scots parliament as drugs policy is still centralised at westminster, who hasnt updated its drugs policy since its misuse of drugs act 1971, 50 years ago.

@Flipmole123 Dates back to the 80s and ukgov has refused to transfer drugs policy the whole time. Its still centralised outwith Scotland. North East England is the drug death capital of England, There were 679 deaths linked to drug misuse in North East England between 2017 and 2019.. drug deaths in North West England reached a record high of 2,037 between 2017-19 and is the second highest rate in England.

Drugs policy is not Devolved, its still centralised at westminster. This is westminsters probelm as they with-hold and refuse to transfer the powers too Scotland. The Union is killing Scots. And you wonder why folk want independence

@rustyrench4278 They operating on pocket money budget. dont have full control of tax revenue therefore dont have full control of spending choices. 35% of Scotlands taxation was kept by Westminster last year and is paying a share of trident and their 40% increase in nuclear weapons, the biggest defence budget in Europe, hs2, hinkley point, london crossrail, london sewer system, westminster refurbishment, unelected house of lords. As you voted to keep a massive chunk of scotlands tax money in westminsters control when you voted to stay in the UK in 2014

Westminster been saying no to that since the 90s. drugs policy is still centralised there. The Union is killing Scots with its with-holding of powers from Scotland.
3
They can't legislate for any of them, as drugs policy is not devolved. its still centralised at westminster
3
Bojo out, not 1 person in Scotland voted for him as hes not elected here.
3
Furth Fortune Fill the Fetters The Home Office, is a department of the United Kingdom Government, not Scot Gov
2
Because westminster won't transfer drugs policy to scotgov
2
@Andrew-ri5qo Its a fact aslong as the Union with-holds the powers over drugs policy
2
@oldskoolrools3087 North East England is the drug death capital of England and North West England is second highest in England. Drugs policy is not devolved to them either.
1
@LiftedBuddha No i dont think that would be the policy

@ednamode2881 They can't tackle the Union legacy probelm as hindered by the Union drugs policy is still centralised at westminster and outwith the competence of the Scots Parliament. Its westminster probelm aslong as they keep drugs policy in there control and with-hold and refuse to transfer it to scotgov like they'v been asking for years. The Union is killing Scots as it with-holds powers from Scotland. They also with-hold drugs policy powers from North East England, which is the drug death capital of England. There were 679 deaths linked to drug misuse in North East England between 2017 and 2019.. drug deaths in North West England reached a record high of 2,037 between 2017-19 and is the second highest rate in England. drug deaths in Yorkshire reached 484 people in 2018-19, with 131 dying in Sheffield alone.

@Andrew-ri5qo It suits Unionists to keep drugs policy with-held from scotgov so they can say snp bad, yet its the Union and the UKgov thats the probelm as they havnt updated its drugs policy since its misuse of drugs act 1971, which is 50 years old.
1
@Andrew-ri5qo Can't do anything as drug policy is centralised at westminster, With independence drugs policy becomes with scotgov, only then will scotgov get the powers needed to clean up the Unions legacy of with-holding powers
1
@Andrew-ri5qo Is drug policy devolved to scotland?
1
@Andrew-ri5qo You can't answer that, is it because drugs policy is Not Devolved to Scotland therefore Not in Scotgov control
1
@LiftedBuddha Scotgov wanted to set up safe drug consumption rooms but UK gov refused, as drugs policy is still centralised at westminster. It suits Unionists to with-hold drug policy from Scotland so they can say snp bad, even though their Union is killing Scots because of them with-holding the power from scotgov.
1
@LiftedBuddha Are you all for transfer of drugs policy from westminster too scots parliament so they can clean up the Unions Legacy of with-holding drugs policy?
1
@LiftedBuddha Get rid of westminster as the Union is killing Scots. Look at other countries westminsters controlled and what they done to them
1
@Andrew-ri5qo Is drugs policy devolved to Scotland?
1
@LiftedBuddha They can't legislate outside the devolved powers. drugs policy is not devolved.

@xtraspecialmango If they did try to help folk who are dying because of the Union, with-holding drugs policy powers from Scotgov, westminster would probably take them to court. North East England is the drug death capital of England. There were 679 deaths linked to drug misuse in North East England between 2017 and 2019, which works out at a rate of 9.1 per 100,000 people, almost twice as high as England's average rate of 4.7 for the same period. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/north-east-drug-death-capital-19103153

@oldskoolrools3087 Because Scotgov is denied the powers to do something by the UK
1
@oldskoolrools3087 Barnett formula is only some of our own taxation coming back, while uk keeps a huge chunk of ours
