Will they finally correct UK Government's historic failure to set up Scotland's own national defence force or will they still be expecting Scots to pay into the UK Defence in return for no defence force of our own?

@KingCharles3 It doesn't work, how come Norwegians, Danes and Irish can get a career in their national defence forces but Scots cannot sign up to the Scottish equivalent?

@elliswellington4553 The British Army HQ is in Marlborough, England. The British Navy HQ is in Portsmouth, England. The British Air Force HQ is in Wycombe, England. No one here has opportunity to sign up to Scotland's own National Defence Force. The United Kingdom discriminates against Scots in its historic failure to spend Scottish Taxpayer Money in Scotland setting up a defence force serving taxpayers in Scotland. The United Kingdom's failure denies careers to Scots.

@hobbabobba7912 Its not anything but a failure. 26% decrease in trained armed forces personnel since 2010. Correcting its historic failure to set up Scotland's own defence force would go someway to addressing that 26% decrease. An example of the uptake that could have In Scotland, when Scotland's First Ever Social Security Service started in 2018 there was 170 full time staff. In its March 2024 workforce statistics there was 3,776 full time staff. = An uptake/increase of 95,5 percent or 3,606 full time staff.

@CB-dl1vg No single UK-Wide Education system. Its not our probelm England's education system doesn't provide free uni to English students or that the English electorate don't vote for parties that will.

@CB-dl1vg Fee Paying UK and International Students enrolling in Scottish Uni's fund free tuition for Scots Students. Scots students have three times less student debt than English counterparts,, According to the House of Commons Library report. The Student Loans Company new Glasgow headquarters opened in April. St Andrews University is the top university in the UK for the 2nd year in a row, according to The Guardian University Guide 2024. Scots Workforce best educated in UK, The CBI. The youth employment rate is 54,1% in Scotland and 53% in the UK as whole, according to the ONS.

@covfefe1787 The Annual Scottish Social Attitudes Survey published today 61% of people thought Scottish Government should have the most influence over the way Scotland is run. 18% of people thought the UK Government should have the most influence over the way Scotland is run. 47% of people said they trust the Scottish Government to work in Scotland's best interests. 21% of people said they trust UK Government to work in Scotland's best interests. 35% of people thought that the Scottish Government was good at listening to people’s views before taking decisions. 12% of people thought the UK Government was good at listening to people’s views before taking decisions.

@KingCharles3 How come its trained personnel has shrunk 3% since 2023 and 26% since 2010 ? Why doesn't Scotland have its own? Why are we paying into the UK's in return for UK failure to set up our own? The UK correcting its historic failure could help to sort out its shrinking personnel. I know for a fact folk here will come to their flag, for example 200 thousand went to Germany to see Scotland at the Euro's.

@Statueshop297 Can't have a career in Scotland's own national defence force due to failure of the UK.
1
@Statueshop297 Why not? Why isn't the UK correcting its historic mistake of failing to spend Scottish taxpayer money setting up Scotland's own defence force? Why are we paying into the UK's in return for no opportunity to join our own? 3% decrease in the UK's Trained personal since 2023. 26% decrease in its Trained personnel since 2010.

@Statueshop297 its HQ in a foreign country so detrimental & discriminatory to jobs in Scotland. Our own forces would be our own National Defence Force with HQ in Scotland.

@Statueshop297 Scotland makes up 62% of the Offshore Exclusive Economic Zone. 32% of the Land Area.

@Statueshop297 In 2014 during the referendum, the MoD committed to increase the number of its Scottish based personnel to 12,500 by 2020. It failed Scotland by nearly 17% according to the admission in the figures you used. UK Defence Procurement was worth £52,8 Billion in 2023. Despite Scots Taxpayers having to pay into England's MoD instead of our own. UK Government spent just 4% or £2 Billion of its procurement budget in Scotland. This was less than half of Scotland's 8,2% UK population share. £4,3 Billion was Scotland's 8,2% UK population share of the procurement budget. We lost out by £2,3 Billion.

@Statueshop297 No it doesn't. The UK Discriminates against Scotland by its failure to provide taxpayers here our own national defence force. This is detrimental to our security. It denies us our nationality. Doesn't provide a choice of association. Also denies people the right to take part in the governance of our own country.

@Statueshop297 No its was the entire MoD budget. We make up 8,2% of the population, Why are we only getting 4% of its spend? Why did we loss out on £2,3 Billion of its spend last year? Why are we having to pay in for such losses?
