So are you suggesting 1800 deaths per million so far in Sweden is the best? How about South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand with deaths in the few hundred per million? Also China doesn't have the Swedish healthcare system so maybe over 2,000 deaths per million so far in China had they adopted the Swedish policy or 2.5 million dead people. The problem is about getting elderly people in China vaccinated, those countries I mentioned that are all open now with minimal restrictions had vaccination rates above 90% double dose, China's elderly population if reported correctly aren't even close.

Nobody is interfering so what's the point of your comment?

You're not that old and don't look sick so if you get covid 99.9% chance no problems. Home isolation although not fun isn't a big problem, the problem is if they do that like Shanghai and you won't be getting reliable food coming in. Best of luck and take care.

@CanadianBakin42O She will know herself if she has diabetes for example which is a high risk factor. If the picture is her then she isn't old or obese we know that.

@jozefvervloet766 Nowhere in Europe locked down, it just didn't happen. Voluntary quarantine and free travel is not a lockdown. You can argue that Sweden's lockdown lite model which allowed massive spread through nursing homes was the best because other lockdown lite models the same thing occured. Don't compare lockdown that isn't a lockdown and only designed to spread the virus a little slower with a lockdown and appropriate restrictions designed to contain the virus. China has stuffed up with vaccination of the elderly, look at the numbers etc. In the wealthy Western Pacific WHO region countries and you can see we didn't have massive deaths on opening up. QLD had 5 deaths for a population of 5 million half the population of Sweden and now we have had 887 deaths out of over 1 million recorded cases. So about 10% of the deaths of Sweden but you reckon Sweden was great, it wasn't but I I do acknowledge that for a lockdown lite model that causes 10 times the deaths it's as good as it gets.

@jozefvervloet766 one thing about Sweden it actually did very well with the vaccine rollout, I haven't seen the final numbers but they were much better than countries like Germany which had strong resistance. It's hard to compare countries and since Omicron case numbers are meaningless. The underlying health of Sweden versus UK for example is much higher going by the obesity rate which is only about 20% versus 30%. I acknowledge that in Europe Sweden was one of the better performers but I still believe the Western Pacific had better policies and also didn't destroy any economy. China being considered upper middle income did well until it came to vaccinating the elderly, I expect they will fix that now but it's going to take a few months to have a large number triple vaccinated.
