Comments by "annoyed aussie" (@annoyedaussie3942) on "Australia to resume India repatriation flights after backlash - BBC News" video.
The headline is terrible and misleading, nothing was resumed due to pressure, they stuck to the schedule and compassionate flights the government pays, we already had compassionate flight/s from India in January or February and now they crying racism. China loves this , they say we are all racist and now have the BBC supporting their cause which is to cause disharmony.

They caused the problem, it was 2 players breaking the then unenforceable rules so government had to do something otherwise it just becomes a case of if you have money the rules don't apply to you. Just like Clive Palmer locked out of WA at the time, I am a Queenslander and supported the WA decision of rules are rules. No normal person could travel back from India on regular direct flights, flying to Doha is the wrong direction so probably cost a fortune.

Vaccinated makes no difference at this point, it's still a risk. Emotionally I think the same but in reality Australia is extremely vulnerable, the virus now it not the same to 1 year ago, even Taiwan, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand , Thailand all having greater problems especially with quarantine breeches of more transmissible variants.

What surprised me was how easy it was for them to travel out of Australia, on a previous report the guy went to a funeral, many Australians couldn't do that in Australia and the guy complaining about discrimination. They don't even seem to realise hotel quarantine costs the taxpayer loads of money, the traveller only pays for the hotel room, governments pay for security , health , extra stay at far higher costs for positive cases and $10s of millions I expect cost for a city if it gets locked down for a few days. To be fair not all people of Indian origin will be like this but those that are , are completely ungrateful for what they have received.

The compassionate flights were going to happen anyway, we have done it previously from India and now situation worse.

@Heeyboii A small number of vaccines were imported , not certain but I think mostly Pfizer ones, Oxford Astrazeneca I think we only got 300,000 so far. From now on I suspect that all the Oxford Astrazeneca vaccine will be manufactured in Australia for Australian use and eventually when they come other doses will be donated to other Oceania and ASEAN countries.

The rich were the target, the interviewee couldn't afford his own private plane and if flights stopped you need to go private or to a country that doesn't care first which will up the cost.
