I think from the quarantine issues and opening too quickly. The abattoir which had 40 cases detected after a known case after a month showed a failed contact tracing regime. Pretty sure Victoria opened more quickly than QLD. So several factors I would suggest.

Boon Huat Tan Mate go to Florida or Texas, or Brazil and see what you think.

That was/is Sweden's approach. Multiply their death toll by 2.5 to adjust to Australian population or multiply by 0.65 for Victoria and see if you like the number.

Then compare the per capita rate of deaths in New York and you will realise this is not like the flu.

Hey fair go people. I am not Victorian but be reasonable. If they were a US mainland state they would be considered the best performer. In the end it's up to Victorians after this event to decide if a new government is needed but now is not the time. When they are covid free then it's ok to comment , not kick them when they're down

I think lots of people in Victoria have got the shutes so let them have all the toilet paper they need. Send the military into other states if need be to aquire that product, Victorians are in a time of need.

They do roll. When a person is rolling drunk I think every part may roll.

While protests may have contributed to an existing problem it's not the root cause. Brisbane and Sydney had large protests too but no apparent problem.

Why this comment. If it was a police state you would be covid free. In fact it can be argued the opposite, the state with the most relaxed attitude and the results are in.

Says a guy in a pub in Queensland or NT laughing his head off.

They are different jurisdictions. Just as each US state is a different jurisdiction. Don't know what your comment is supposed to mean. This is how a federation operates. Are you suggesting there are 56 identical governments with thousands of identical police forces and laws plus territory governments that are all identical. That's communism maybe with central control.

Every state has different laws and enforcement policies. I don't know the difference between WA and QLD. Laws can be very different, maybe it's a small fine in WA and possibly gaol time in QLD.

Many steps in Queensland was only hours notice. This is the way it needs to be otherwise people will take advantage of the time to spread the virus. People are people, majority will do the right thing and the minority need to be catered for unfortunately. Don't take it personally which I know from myself having similar reactions previously.

@juicygoldengrapes it's better late than never. In the US he would be considered the best governor of the country based on performance with this issue. He just looks a bit out of place here, but it's good because he has a lot of pressure. Australia wants to open to NZ but Victoria is preventing that because other states understand Victorians would be offended and lose the plot, in other words internal diplomatic issues. Normally such situations don't exist.

Most states have Victoria needs to succeed then they can be like other states.

@Alliwantedwasapepsi Are you kidding. They have a 60% voter turnout give or take.

Hey seen a Woolies or Cole's you've seen them all. I assume Melbourne has such supermarket chains. Maybe some will have to switch chain not a disaster.

Malaka90 the death rate is because of measures taken and tests conducted what's your point.
