  1. He's right and wrong at the same time. The comments by Vivek don't give any nuance and don't accept that diverse groups of people create the best outcomes. The US while being diverse in some respects is extremely insular , you unfortunately in my opinion don't look for best outcomes based on evidence. The US has similar policies to China in some respects, far right socialism that subsidises corporations to produce export products. Basically you both want to subsidise the world and pay a personal cost for it. Exporting subsidised goods is bad for both your countries and also hurts some other countries, why do you want to pay agricultural subsidies for broard acre farmers to crush poor poor people in other countries and yourselves. I am fully supportive of the Australian free trade agenda which a few years ago was supported by Republicans who thought Reagan was onto something, but now Trump has literally reversed 90% of Reagan's policies including the free trade agreement between USA, Canada and Mexico.
