I'm sort of jealous as an Aussie we used to often refer to ourselves as the 51st state because our governments regardless of which side have been a bit too much pro Washington. New Zealand our small neighbour stood up to the US and said no nuclear weapons in their territory and the US responded we won't tell you so all US war ships were banned from their waters. Reagan floated the idea of sanctions against NZ but the Australian Prime Minister at the time said that would be a bad idea.
