For the US to get out of the hole it is in requires the corporate tax rate to be are 30% or so and for benefits to be cut over time as in increases below inflation rate and healthcare system to be overturned. You can't improve things by digging a deeper hole and neither of your political parties are going to do whats necessary until it's too late. 125% government debt to GDP isn't something that can be fixed easily, most countries would have collapsed already with that problem, the US is somewhat protected by the USD being the major reserve currency but it won't protect you forever.
