That's a negative attitude and assumes all vaccines are ineffective. This could be the case but the experts think it's likely we will have an effective proven vaccine by middle next year give or take for widespread distribution.

The US doesn't know much about it's home grown strains because to quote a wise old man , " if you don't test you don't have cases" , the US has ramped up genomic testing on a countrywide level to 0.3% so I think the saying applies. The California strain isn't getting much news maybe they don't know much about it yet.
1
She didn't know, simple as that. The probability of the shots killing someone is fairly low actually, but drive by and in this case walk by shootings being so prevalent of course people die. Think of the statistics given in Chicago recently, they give the number of people shot and the number of deaths. Most of these incidents involve multiple shots I would think and the statistics provided don't include drive by shootings where the bullets didn't hit anyone as far as I know. These types of shootings are for terror purposes , not only to kill.
1
Probably there has and it could be a business owner for example who didn't have mental issues before but lost everything, I think it could also be an issue for young people thinking there is no future for them.
1
@valeriequinn8942 once it's over whenever that may be (over is everything has run it's course and we back to normal) based on history there will be a strong worldwide recovery and it will be relatively fast.
1
Maybe next April it will.
1
@nzplus7922 don't know about that. In Australia had about 70,000 protestors around the country but only for one day and 0 property damage and 0 violence so not an international story. Maybe 1 minute on NZ news because we are close to you. But at the time of the protests Australia had the virus as now under control. Victoria looking concerning but I think they will stop stuffing up otherwise the rest of Australia won't allow them out of their state.

Looking from the outside so no direct personal feelings. While your President was not the only problem, he has turned out to be the biggest problem. At the current point in time he is encouraging the virus to spread by ignoring every government guideline. Him saying and this is a direct quote at one of his rallies if you haven't heard it " the CDC says 85% of people who wear masks get the virus" is an outright intentional misleading statement to ensure the antimaskers vote for him. Your president is as crafty as hell in his wording and considers every single word he says, it wasn't a slip of the tongue he does the exact same behaviour constantly with intent. While not legally responsible because it wouldn't meet the legal standard he is directly causing the deaths of people who listen to him and around those people.
1
@Will Reddish You said thanks to Biden they will go free. So explain that comment to me because a state crime has absolutely nothing to do with a president in any way shape or form. In general terms why do American speak like you? In Australia if there is an issue of something occurring inside a state nobody outside of that state does anything , that's a state issue. I observed this with the George Floyd incident and it made no sense, people protesting all over the country against the wrong people, they didn't even seem to be protesting against the state government who's jurisdiction it was. So I am curious of your strange culture that doesn't seem to assign blame in an appropriate manner.

While it's a bad and disappointing situation as long as the military isn't killing people that's the main thing. So long as this is the case the international community can only really speak against it. The US has threatened sanctions, for your sake I hope they don't occur because throughout modern history it has only worked on one occasion with South Africa, every other time it has led to food and or medicine and or fuel becoming scarce and hurting the poor with no benefit, in fact to the contrary in my opinion, hungry people rarely fight for political reform they only fight for food and the dictator can actually oppress the people easier. I wish you the best of luck but I recommend you and your people consider very carefully any sanctions not related to weapons or personal sanctions on the military leaders like not being able to travel or having any foreign assets frozen. For reform to truly occur the low rank poor soldiers must be on the side of the people so don't attack low ranking people it's counterproductive because they have little or no choice. Best of luck , take care and stay peaceful.

@JordanMelbyVlogs At the get go without even doing anything other than a basic observation 36% of US Adults are obese. Pre existing fatness. Time to carry a cull I guess. Is this really how you think?
1
LAST CALL There is nothing wrong with having a little neanderthal blood. Unless you are racially pure sub saharan african you will have some neanderthal blood also.
1
@JordanMelbyVlogs What jurisdiction are you referring to with regards to some mask mandate?
1
@JordanMelbyVlogs If you are referring to Michigan the governor's last order was July 19 and in the order itself has no expiry date that I could see, so if the order does cease on November 5 then the only logical explanation is that it expires because an order can only be in effect legally for a certain period due to legislation on the matter or for constitutional reasons.
1
LAST CALL possibly ,but better not to worry about it. I think getting angry or annoyed is what some people want so just respond to them normally, it would be rather off-putting to them I think and if they are attacking you because someone attacked them it allows them to reconsider. Some people I have noticed do calm down if you treat them with respect even if they were the instigator and didn't treat you with respect. Admittedly I don't always follow my own advice because sometimes people can get under my skin, but that only harms me.
1
LAST CALL exiled could mean fleeing prosecution for criminal activities and the US let them in. This would certainly not be unheard of. The US is easily conned sometimes look at the make up stories of WMD in Iraq for US citizenship and they got what they wanted.
1
@Mogadorus that one I am uncertain, antivaxxers might be big beer drinkers on average, not sure. I do drink but in the Australian context cask wine is the cheapest so that's my choice. Prefer beer but it's above my budget for now.
1
Actually about 2 million excess deaths in US over the 2 year period. How drastic do you want it to be?
1
It wasn't a hit. No hitman or woman will walk up to a front door. They will almost certainly be caught eventually. A person involved with her or husband in a professional sense or something to do with the son directly.
1
You take care, people appreciate you
1
You are completely uninformed, the US provides billions $s in military aid.
1
I know in Australia at least as of a month or so ago they will not use the antibody test which is very quick outside of emergencies (like at a car accident for example) because it was totally unreliable, the one Trump is currently promoting. Maybe it's changed, but if that was the case the entire world would have changed over to the 15 minutes test, why spend so much extra money getting lab tests done.
1
@skythunder334 fair enough, so HIV isn't a problem because there is not a single known case of the virus directly killing a human being, all that virus does is affect your bodies immune responses and if you don't subsequently get another infection of something you will not die. If we use your premiss we can't count the 50,000 or whatever the number is who died from pneumonia caused by covi sars2. Virtually no one will ever die of anything if we adopt your convention of disregarding cause and effect.
1
@coolman299 if you refuse to look at information available then what you say is correct, maybe look outside your country to any country that was/is relatively successful as in less than 10% of the deaths per million of the US and see what they did ( choose any large country of 1 million or more that belongs to Western Pacific WHO region, they all fit this category )
1
Huh? It's impossible that 2 countries with no tourist receipts due to a virus situation would sign what sounds like a travel agreement. I think that's entirely possible and in fact quite likely. It's good to see though and without the virus probably they wouldn't agree. So this might be one of those silver linings where conflicts are put aside even if only for a while. I think this has occurred in many countries due to the virus.
1
Anthony Quantrill Well how about the alternate reality of the West Pacific, I am in Australia, half a dozen cases and everything open. It's a pity you prefer not to join that alternate reality with all the sheep.
1
He certainly has it. For him to go to hospital for "an abundance of caution" is very difficult. Also the fact he is receiving all those treatments when an ordinary person would not receive them unless they are extremely ill shows he is sick. He is scared and taking pre emptive actions that others wouldn't and in most cases wouldn't have access to such care. His doctors would have told him based on the information we know you have approximately a 5% probability of dying.
1
My impression is that people believe that the police should be able to chase a criminal and if fired upon be able to fire back. A taser is a deadly weapon according to the attorney general involved.
1
@Kevin Castaneda all Western democracies are socialist, so what are you talking about? Limited socialism is necessary for a functional society. Countries like the Nordic countries and France are more socialist but still function pretty well, arguably better than the US at this point in time.
1
1500 deaths in a week, that's remarkable, maybe if you are correct they are slow to report numbers, very slow.
1
I like the comment that the interview was fake yet he apparently has a copy of it. I wonder what was said in the interview which hasn't been released yet that is so bad Trump is calling it fake.
1
Ellen Peba I am Australian as I think you had guessed. The US has certain things we are very alike and other things we are quite different. But I find watching interesting. Also you know politics between Australia, UK and US is very interconnected. There are campaign advisors who sometimes work for the same sides of politics in different countries . There is also one media person that has had no problems crossing borders . Rupert Murdoch has influenced the politics in all 3 countries I think.
1
You mustn't be from New Jersey, or do you mean starting from now? Already 0.3% of their entire population dead and although much slower now people are still dying.
1
There are more poor whites in the US than blacks, the proportion is higher in blacks but the poor whites feel left behind too, they have sided with Trump to a larger extent. With males Trump received a higher proportion of votes from less educated white people than educated and the inverse was true with black males with a higher proportion of educated versus uneducated voting for him. The overall vote however was much more white males voted for Trump than black males.
1
Why did you make the statement "the world needs you"?
1
@trentwise3762 totally agree with you.
1
What's with you mob? When cases hit a record you have record travel for the year. I hope the US isn't developing biological weapons because you will end up infecting yourselves.
1
Effective Vaccines might be coming. I hope for your sake they are because otherwise what you say is correct for the next few years.
1
Read the other comments in this thread and around, not a good idea , some basically say they "are either really old or have serious underlying health issues" , these people don't care if " the weak" are killed off and wouldn't particularly care about patients. The first quote is from Trump at a rally actually.
1
@NORTHBROOK1978 you've lost me in your last comment. Without being cryptic, what is unconstitutional? What do you need a gun for , are you going to shoot the virus? I am in Australia which is virtually covid 19 free and my country has a homicide rate one 6th that of the US on a per capita basis.
1
@foodandhomeprep8425 You better free those 400,000 Americans who went against health orders and are currently in prison for an offence that doesn't kill others. This is an approximate number of people incarcerated for drug crimes. Do you support any laws restricting drugs?
1
@SOGFLY1 funnily enough the sheep countries that have been successful have lower restrictions, no martial law or anything like that. You are possibly going into lockdown because your government failed or just didn't care. I feel sorry for you if you acted as a stupid sheep and followed the advice of the slaughter man.
1
@SOGFLY1 for a lockdown to be successful it needs to be comprehensive and cases need to get down to about 10 cases per million for contact tracing to work. The problem mostly is places get on the cusp of achieving this and then open up fully and cases go back up rapidly. If you look at Victoria Australia 3 months ago it was looking pretty bad by the then world standard with many places in Europe and many US states looking far better, now they have 14 days no new detected cases. Weather seems to play some sort of role in spreading rates but exactly what seems uncertain and might depend on culture and living conditions. If you look at tropical areas around the equator it might be the case that because of no real seasons it makes for a flat year round spreading pattern versus we can see the spread in Europe and US now as it starts to get cooler. I wish you the best of luck and take care. What an individual can do is very limited other than do the best to protect themselves and family. Let's hope the vaccines will turn things around over the next year.
1
Jesus Christ I didn't know that but did notice another shirt on someone else had alternative logo's. Not very good for a confrontation because then both sides look the same in a fight.
1
It's pretty simple last 2 weeks about 1000 dead per day on average, reduce that number a little on the assumption people will take a little more care , multiply by number of days.
1
@drew13600 very correct, you can't forecast human behaviour. Human behaviour including political decisions decide the outcome. Not highly predictable.
1
Audio from the bodycam will let us know in time I expect. I am guessing the officer or suspect said something around that time.
1
@stringmonkey568 The problem is Trump decided not to tell others of the dangers, how were opposition party members supposed to know? He had behaved this way before suggesting a muslim countries ban on entry to the US without good reason, a case of crying wolf.
1
You might find it like NY was where a large proportion of officers going out sick leave. But if protests were to continue even peaceful protestors probably won't follow the rules of not coming if at all sick.
1
I think you mean by Israel not of Israel, your statement says that Palestinian are illegally occupying Israel in that sentence.
