Weak leaders afraid to tell people what needs doing. In Australia and New Zealand our leaders told the truth and did the best they could as with other West Pacific countries. We have better international contact tracing than the US has in most states that don't even bother. The US has also set up an accelerated virus spreading plan and that's literally what it is, one state puts in restrictions people depending on distance and means in many cases can just drive there infected bodies across the state border to go partying. We actually have enforced hotel quarantine not this voluntary stuff in the US which is particularly important at the national border. Once an area in Australia has an outbreak the people in that area can't travel interstate without hotel quarantine. The US has about 400,000 people in prison for violating health orders, that is drugs yet won't restrict infected people who in the end kill others because it's against freedom. For a country with the most non violent offenders in the world in prison on a per capita basis I think, it would seem priorities are a bit messed up. Most European countries are similar to the US. Until a single US state government shuts the state border to non essential travel and puts in enforced quarantine and other measures I won't believe anything will change until vaccine very widely available. In and out of lockdown to come.
