In Queensland Australia a common definition of an outbreak is maybe 5 connected cases. What is an outbreak in the US in common language? Just a number would be fine.

In countries with a containment model that have contained the virus successfully it so far appears to be less of a problem. I am in Australia and some wish for your situation of continuous measures with no end in sight and aren't really happy with low restrictions (ex Victoria currently fixing their situation). We have major travel restrictions though. Some people will be unhappy no matter what.

Why does the US celebrate a socialist holiday? Seems a large proportion of people are hypocrites because they should protest and demand it's cancellation. Or alternatively people are ok with a certain level of socialism and just use the word socialist as an insult without actually knowing what socialism is.

@skythunder334 fair enough, so HIV isn't a problem because there is not a single known case of the virus directly killing a human being, all that virus does is affect your bodies immune responses and if you don't subsequently get another infection of something you will not die. If we use your premiss we can't count the 50,000 or whatever the number is who died from pneumonia caused by covi sars2. Virtually no one will ever die of anything if we adopt your convention of disregarding cause and effect.
