  1. You will never know but some of the PCR tests get sampled and genomic sequenced and they extrapolate the the data to come up with approximate percentages. Only if it becomes 100% will you know it's a particular variant.

  2. The Flu isn't news unless it's a major outbreak, go search the CDC if you are interested in deaths involving the flu which is far lower than normal.

  5. They sample some for genomic testing and extrapolate based on that. The person who the test comes from won't be told.
