@defeqel6537 overall health they probably are but at least the obesity rate has increased slower than Australia as an example, we've overtaken them. The actual dietary advice is fine but approximately 30% of people even come close to following it. Every country pretty much recommends the Mediterranean diet. It's a whole lot different than actual diet majority of people follow. The soft drink tax in UK does seem to have worked, maybe a small gain but better than no gain.

Alcohol and tobacco are late paleo age so that's fine and just use honey to keep with the Paleo thing, refined sugar came much later.

It's better to get someone to have a glass of fruit juice they will drink than tell them to eat a fruit that they won't. Public health policy has to look for the best outcome and consider whether anyone will actually follow it. Everyone knows fresh fruit is better than cooked fruit juice with fibre removed or at least should know unless they've lived under a rock for 30 years.

@defeqel6537 Fortunately you aren't running public health policy in the UK. While things are mixed at least their health decline has slowed a bit compared to Australia for example, we have overtaken them for fat and obese. You sound like your an American actually, all or nothing, just pay high taxes for hospitals and drugs, don't even try who cares got to keep big pharma, medical care and insurance companies happy.

Last time I had raisin bran in Australia maybe 30 years ago it was toasted unsweetened bran flakes and raisins not sugar coated. If they've been Americanized now I don't know but I would hope not.

@kathleenking47 I didn't say I smoke but you correctly guessed it and I am an addict. Or to the original point a Paleo man who doesn't know better. I don't use filters in my Rollie's, filters wouldn't be Paleo. Papers are breaking the rules a bit, the native Americans used pipes I think.

@Lenzer50 Cocaine and Nicotine come from plants. Many plants have poisons or drugs, just coming from a plant means nothing.
