@SionynJones The responses have been bipartisan in just about every country including the US when it comes down to it. The relaxed approach or mitigation policies of the US and most of Europe doesn't really have any opposition. Same can be said in containment countries in the Asian region. Different policies leading to currently very different outcomes. The countries with very large populations and lack of resources to respond effectively in containment haven't succeeded with containment but on a per capita basis have less deaths etc. than the alternative policy by far better of countries with plenty of resources.

That's transfer of a complex and relatively large creature, those insects. How about something so small you can't see it.

@nummer3sweden I looked up the issue and and found an article and although it didn't give a number it stated that several teachers in Sweden had died from complications. So opening up of schools in highly infected areas of course will lead to some dead teachers, really no different to medical staff when you think about it although the risk levels would differ if you are a nurse or doctor directly dealing with covid 19 patients who it would seem are highly infectious compared to a-symptomatic cases.

The answer to your question is actually quite easy. The people looking into it looked at bulk data without considering why. Parents will try to protect their young children so they will take less risks themselves and be extra careful around their children to try not pass anything to them. So when schools got closed as happened of course they don't want them playing with those other (diseased) kids. Any other time they would encourage interactions with other children.
