@GgrandMmamaLlama New Jersey seems to have the worst deaths per capita on the planet at 0.24% . So getting really close to that theoretical number of 0.3% of the population could die if everybody got it, I think the 0.3% number is wrong. The daily deaths although very bad are not as bad as March and April last year at least.

But the anti vaxxer anti masker orthodox Jews are gathering in large groups, depending how much of the population they are their contribution could be significant.

@importantjohn I was looking at articles about Japan and I was surprised that they rated 3 for vaccine hesitancy with Bosnia Herzegovina second and France number 1 which I think explains some things about the vaccine rollouts and commentary about Japan and France. Where I am in Australia it's really hard to judge about whether people would be highly compliant with an ongoing mask mandate because we only had one for 2 weeks and most but not all seemed to comply. Vaccines haven't started rolling out yet so don't know how people will react, it might be harder because no cases. Privately I am hoping take-up isn't seen as urgent by people and vaccinated people can travel internationally , however people still waiting to come back Australia so any international travel might be a long way off. If everyone gets the vaccine me being 47 probably waiting until August or so.

So far Indonesia isn't so bad with about 1 eighth of the deaths per capita but without enough vaccines to stop the slow but continuous spread it could continue to get worse.
