Yeah I've followed some of that on YouTube and even medical professionals saying it's not your fault. I am a recovering alcoholic, maybe it's true I didn't know how to stop drinking which included major diet changes since alcohol was a significant part of my diet but I know in the end my drinking was my fault and those addicted to junk food it's their fault too. It is true that fast food chains and packaged grocery manufacturers have made the food more addictive but there's still the option to buy unprocessed food, even something simple like baked beans, you can buy the beans and tomato paste and make it yourself without adding sugar and salt to the amount one requires. Even simple things like eating nuts instead of cheezles or something is a massive improvement and available to everyone.

Yeah John did another video on the matter a year or so ago. To me it seems the minor differences due to genetics are completely overwhelmed by the health response or lack of and the health of the population to start with. If you look at Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand we all have low death rates because of our responses but demographics other than age which would be similar although I guess Japan probably the oldest are actually very different, Australia and New Zealand we are way fatter than those other countries but we also have lower smoking rates. Racial demographics are very different, supposedly Japan and South Korea should have far less deaths if Neanderthal genes were a significant factor but this just hasn't occurred. As far as age it's approximately every 7 years of age the risk doubles. Australian and New Zealand demographics are somewhat similar to US or UK without any significant population of African descent. The US and UK had significantly different response in managing the virus and the results are clear for all to see.
