Would have dig deeper in the data, they might be coming in for other things but could still be caused by the virus, need to know are the hospitalizations above average or not and what the other issues are. I had covid most likely and herpes and tinea flared up and conjunctivitis I couldn't open my eyes after waking without manually removing the stuff gluing my eyelids together. Never had these issues in such a severe way previously.

Astrazeneca vaccine is a modified virus along with a few others but it can't replicate. Creating a virus that spreads could go very wrong, many conspiracy theorists believe that's how covid 19 started.

It's random, just like some kids getting Kawasaki Syndrome, no way to predict which little kids that might happen to. Bad health obviously increases the rate of problems but good health doesn't make one bullet proof.

@ALFgold It might be a "game changer", what I am curious about is, do people have some immunity already from this new variant because the body recognizes the part of the protein that has come from a common coronavirus most likely? If the answer is yes then it's really good and greatly reduced deaths and severe illness.

@Paul Flusk The international border is open so in regards to that question it is no longer. Of course like every major country on the planet international inbound tourism is lower and yes in our case almost non existent. Domestic tourism on average is booming, the current downside is opening the border means we go back to net tourism exports, a contributing factor to our increased trade surplus last year was people not traveling so less people importing (going overseas) tourism services. I think we will handle the letting people spend money overseas again, our economy is pretty resilient.

@Paul Flusk it differs by state but minimum is home/accommodation quarantine for 3 days and required to take 2 pcr tests one within 24 hours of arrival and one on day 6.
