Unless you refuse all covid patients and put them in covid colonies to die with no interventions having covid 19 rampant means other healthcare suffers.

Victoria Australia, a true curfew makes enforcement of restrictions easier. If restrictions aren't comprehensive and enforced it won't achieve much at all.

I think you will find Australian life expectancy will increase this year with other containment countries.

@andrewlilley3660 it's not the number of patients , it's because the procedures required to keep covid 19 out of hospitals are expensive and reduce the amount of patients that can be seen. In my state Queensland if a single medical staff member tests positive then the entire hospital staff will be replaced for 2 weeks. It happened recently when a nurse caught it off a covid 19 patient and from memory around 200 staff. My state is basically covid free with a few remnant cases from an outbreak and whatever imported cases coming in. We built a field hospital too lol.

@andrewlilley3660 State you mean, 6 deaths out of 5,000,000 people and restrictions less than Sweden other than travel. I am happy with that. I wouldn't be so happy if in constant significant restrictions and thousands dead to go with it.

@ejbh3160 the only significant restrictions are in Victoria but they are allowed 2 hours exercise which of course can't really be enforced and I think still have distance from home restrictions, I am not sure. They are on track to go to low restrictions in a few weeks if all goes well. As far as people getting light on their skin I think might be like Spain, actually many don't because these days more people in front of keypads than picnic under trees.

Hang in there, your government failed with contact tracing previously but it looks like it's fixed and better to be safe than sorry because almost impossible to do another hard lockdown and you would be cut off from the rest of us for a long time. Best of luck. Should only be a few weeks and your restrictions will be some of the lowest in the world.
