@MrRawMonkey Are you serious, the risk of dying from AZ vaccine about 1 in 1 million , let me know when the annual road toll gets down to 25 in Australia or to be fair 100.

@MSR_engineering You can't blame the WHO , maybe regional offices which means you're own country or countries in your region. There is a reason the death toll in the Western Pacific region of WHO is less than 10% per Capita of PAHO Pan-American Health Organization and European WHO regions, open borders versus quarantine and other actions. If every region did what the Western Pacific region did it would now be over and very unlikely to have all these variants.

To the Japanese public the games might as well be in Africa, they can't attend the events and the virus spread has nothing to do with the Olympics but it would seem the public don't like the games still going ahead.

The issues Raghad raise about an apparent high number of conspiracy theorists with vaccines and the virus etc. seems to be far worse in certain countries. Quite surprising for me that US , Indonesia, Iraq and Russia all seem to be very similar in this regard. I am in Australia and have some people like that but I don't think it would be as high proportion. The fires in hospitals are tragic and totally understand that reducing confidence a lot.

I would put more blame on leadership, while compliance has its issues in Australia, the way it's dealt with has meant so far that we haven't lost control, Sydney unfortunately is at risk of losing control now due to high case numbers of Delta variant and a protest planned for tomorrow so have to see what happens with that. There's going to be a very large police presence and the vast majority of the people don't support the protestors because they could cause the lockdown to go on longer.
